Angel's Story
Lugar de vivienda: Maracaibo, Venezuela
Angel is a boy who was diagnosed with gastroschisis from the weeks of gestation. His mother was informed of this condition before his birth. He was born premature, at 32 weeks of gestation, and at the time of delivery underwent surgery to correct his malformation.
Subsequently, he remained for six months in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he experienced multiple complications and required resuscitations. As a consequence of this difficult process, significant sequelae remained, including cerebral palsy and total hearing loss in both ears.
Over the years, Angel has suffered several relapses that have required hospitalizations, readmissions to the ICU, and increasingly slow and complex rehabilitation processes.
Additionally, his mother violated his right to have a family by separating herself from his care.
This entire situation led us to take him in and provide him with a better quality of life. For me, it has been a very difficult process, as some days are harder than others. For this reason, I made the decision to leave my job to dedicate myself completely to Angel’s care, always trusting in God and His will.
Angel has fought for his life since day one
Every milestone Angel achieves is an immense victory
